I think I was 7 years old when my Dad took me to the original El Charro to deliver eggs to the restaurant. I loved going with him – He took me inside the front door, and Monica Flin was sitting behind the register. She immediately focused on me, told me to order whatever I wanted (cheese crisp was my choice) and enjoy it “on the house” I was enthralled with her parrot, sitting above the register, a beautiful bird – I could tell it was her bird by the way she responded to it.
This was back around 1959 or 60 – one of the precious memories I have of the Old Pueblo.
