My best childhood memory

Submitted by: Jack Bell

I am a Tucson native. Born at St. Mary’s hospital in 1948. I grew up on Wrightstown road. Our house was 15 miles out of the city limits but we made the trip into town once a month to visit El Charro. These trips started in about 1953 and continued even after I moved to California at the age of 18. I wish I could remember the wonderful woman’s name who was the owner during my early childhood. She always had a special treat for my brother and myself. When I first brought my wife to Tucson in 1974 this was the first restaurant I took her to. Glad to see you are still serving authentic Sonoran dishes. We recommend El Charro to all our friends and family. Congratulations on your continued success.
