Dateline 1973: I was a student at THE University of Arizona, I took the summer semester off to earn funds for the fall. My job was in construction, primarily carpentry and some concrete work. After a full day in the Tucson sunshine, my coworkers and I were exhausted and ready for a respite.
The Revelation: I discovered El Charro one afternoon…… Sitting after work with friends, on the patio (back then open) with a platter of Carne Seca with a cold beverage, and watching the monsoon storm clouds roll into the valley from the north. This was about as close to heaven as I expect to experience in this life. True rest for the weary. Happy times indeed
